Your
WIA One-Stop System:
Next Steps for Continuous Improvement
Now that
you have the basics in place, move to an even higher-performing,
even more customer-pleasing One-Stop service delivery system. Make
sure your One-Stop System is a whole lot more than just merely co-locating
a few partners in a One-Stop Center. Topics include: strengthening
and expanding mandatory and optional system partnerships; defining
"access" and continuing your evolution to integrated program
delivery; re-designing service delivery methods; enhancing your
continuous improvement and quality efforts; and developing a vibrant,
customer-responsive, locally driven One-Stop System.

Building
Strong Workforce Investment System Partnerships:
Making Partnership More than Just a Signed MOU
WIA requires partners to join together to create and
maintain a One-Stop Delivery System. Most areas have completed the
MOU process, but now the hard part---how to make them meaningful
and real. How do your partners join together to share system, center,
and service costs and share customers (without customers knowing
they are being shared)? When you and your partners attend this session,
you will learn: what the law requires (and why you really need to
do more); how you can partner on performance for mutual gain by
sharing and co-registering customers; the difference between cross-informing
and cross-training of front-line staff and when (and how) to effectively
do both; methods for developing cross-agency, multi-level work teams
for continuous improvement; and many more practical ideas to strengthen
your partnership.

One-Stop
Teams!
Working Together to Serve Customers Better
Whether
co-located in the One-Stop Centers or not, partner agency staff
will need to join customer-centered teams for service provision.
Building productive working relationships are key to One-Stop System
and Center success. This highly interactive session using individual
and team self-assessment tools will help new (and old) teams learn
how to successfully work together, build on individual strengths,
and develop team synergy for customer satisfaction and system performance.
