Labor
Exchange in Transition: Positioning for the Future
UI is on
the phone (and out of the office), labor exchange is on the Internet
(with many private-sector competitors), and the Employment Service
staff are in the One-Stop Center: What now? This session will help
you strategically plan the next steps: What role should ES play
in the delivery of core system services, and what is "basic
labor exchange" anyway? Will the new national labor exchange
performance standards change when and whom you register and the
services you provide and how you provide them? Should you position
on the delivery of business services and, if so, how will they fit
within the One-Stop System? Roll-up you sleeves...think about tomorrow...and
plan to get ready for tomorrow---today!

The
Employment Service and WIA Title I Programs: Partners
In Performance
The Labor Exchange has new performance standards, and the Employment
Service will be expected to achieve success in four very new measures.
These measures have the potential to significantly change core services
and service delivery methods for this key One-Stop System Partner.
These new ES success measures are aligned with some of the important
WIA Title I performance standards, and this alignment brings new
opportunities to strengthen the critical partnership between these
two major One-Stop System Partners. Learn the opportunities for
building an even better ES/WIA partnership; when (and how) to co-register
ES/WIA customers for shared service delivery and mutual benefit;
and what others are doing across the country to work together successfully.
