Sandra
Hastings is
a focused, highly motivated professional with extensive experience
in training, system building, and consultation/facilitation.
Sandra's keen intuition and approachable facilitation and
presentation styles have earned her high marks from organizations
and training participants. In addition, Sandra has used her
in-depth knowledge of adult learning, program design, performance
measurement, process improvement, continuous improvement,
one-stop systems, and change management to help workforce
investment partners design and implement organizational changes
that exceed the needs of their business and job-seeking customers.
Sandra has also used
her expertise to promote national training and capacity building
efforts. She has served on several national committees and
created a training process, Strategic Quality Training, which
was promoted as a national model for designing and implementing
training interventions that result in the use of new skills
to enhance job tasks. In addition, Sandra has written and
taught more than five courses funded by US DOL for the workforce
development system's front-line staff.
Much of Sandra's work
has focused on helping organizations build long lasting continuous
improvement efforts that result in positive organizational
changes that can be measured within a year. Connecticut and
Ohio both won the US Department of Labor's Building a World
Class Workforce Award (1995 and 1998 respectively) for changes
that were achieved as a result of Sandra's work. Currently,
she is working with states and workforce investment boards
to create and sustain long-term improvements in the workforce
development system.
Sandra is certified
as a Zenger Miller trainer and master trainer and as a career
development facilitator. She is also qualified to administer
the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and deliver Simply Better!
training.
Sandra has published
and presented her research frequently to share her experiences
with others. In addition to writing three book chapters for
the American Society for Training and Development, Sandra
has published more than twelve articles for various publications.
Sandra has a B.S. from Arizona State University and an M.A.
