Marketer Sandy Gonsalves has been creating effective strategies and materials for workforce audiences for almost 20 years. She was marketing director for the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training prior to opening her own marketing firm under the Greg Newton Associates umbrella in 1994.

As lead consultant for creative marketing services, Sandy brings to her workforce clients the services of a traditional advertising or marketing agency PLUS the specific knowledge of the workforce development system so crucial for marketing success.

Sandy's work focuses on brand creation/repositioning and creative campaign development. Her team creates brochures, web sites, direct response programs, advertising, and more. She is particularly adept at copywriting and messaging, a highly-honed skill that is uniquely hers based on almost two decades in workforce development marketing. She often partners with other Associates who provide the crucial training and consultation needed to institutionalize marketing principles.

Sandy maintains a small client base of private-sector firms ranging from very small businesses to the financial giant Capital One. This allows her to connect with the pulse of business customers and adapt appropriate private-sector strategies for the workforce area.

Sandy has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Boston University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Marketing Communications from Clark University. She sits on the Marketing Board of workforce partner Employment Options, a Massachusetts organization that helps mentally challenged individuals find fulfillment through work.

"What we wanted, in equal parts, from a marketing consultant was workforce knowledge, imagination, skill, timeliness, and the ability and willingness to listen to us. We got all this and more from Sandy Gonsalves. Her working knowledge of WIA and Workforce Development Boards saved us valuable time. We had a very tight timeframe to accomplish our goals, and Sandy was always right on schedule, if not ahead.

"It was vitally important that our WIA service providers participate in the decision-making regarding logo, tagline, color scheme, etc. Not only did Sandy accept this participation, she encouraged us to include our end users in the process to help ensure the product's success.

"I can't imagine we could have found a person who is easier to work with, whose standards are higher, who better understands what we're all about, and who wants us to have the product we want more than Sandy. I highly recommend her to any Workforce Investment Board."
