Sandra Hastings is a workforce development consultant with nationally recognized expertise in training, systems building, and facilitation. Using all three skill sets, she transforms organizations - helping clients align their organization's work with their strategic goals. For more than 20 years she has worked with over 50,000 workforce professionals in states and local communities across the country.

In addition to her work as a trainer, Sandra is best known for her comprehensive organizational development initiatives that help organizations translate workforce trends into model practices. With measurable improvement as the goal, Sandra's work optimizes and aligns staff and resources across an entire organization -- from senior executives to frontline staff -- and encompasses all processes from strategic planning to day-to-day customer transactions.

Sandra complements her workforce development experience and knowledge of promising practices with her in-depth knowledge of the workforce system, one-stop programs, and process design. Sandra's other areas of expertise include performance measurement, continuous improvement, and change management. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to help states and workforce investment boards align resources, programs, and services with the business communities' needs.

Sandra's work as a trainer goes beyond the traditional classroom. With her academic credentials in adult learning, she creates learning programs that help workforce development staff transfer and apply the learning to improve the outcomes with both business and job-seeking customers. She meets her clients' objectives by combining customized curriculum development with a creative mix of learning techniques -- incorporating new technology and online training programs with highly rated presentation skills and blended learning processes.

Among her colleagues and clients, Sandra is highly regarded for her passion for learning, her dedication to details, and her commitment to their success. She fosters long-term relationships to ensure that her clients achieve their strategic goals. Relied on for her keen intuition and approachable style, Sandra simplifies theory, organizes the required changes, implements the plan, and leaves clients with practical hands-on tools (e.g., strategic plans, human resource policies, communication vehicles, how-to manuals, desk aids, and long-term training plans).

Sandra's consulting and training have led to numerous national awards and recognition. Sandra is also widely published in leading training journals and has served on many national committees (e.g., training, research, and certification). She has a B.S. from Arizona State University and an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut.

"Sandra helps organizations implement and sustain organizational change. Her passion, energy, and commitment to the organizations that she works with are unparalleled. Her greatest strength is the ability to build learning communities. Sandra is a conduit for resource sharing and learning. She connects people and programs to build on existing best practice and expand the capacity of staff and organizations."
