Along with her colleagues at Greg Newton Associates, Melanie Arthur is a leading consultant in the national transition to effective workforce development systems. Her work features outcomes that are demand-driven and aligned with economic development -- as well as being responsive to customers and leading to program performance success.

Melanie has worked with and trained more than 50,000 public and nonprofit professionals from across the country -- in more than 40 states. She is best known for work in three areas: optimal Workforce Board development and strategic planning, unique approaches to building relationships with businesses, and her innovative ideas for one-stop integration.

Her customers value her capacity for staying abreast of the current trends, legislation and "best practices," and her knack for transforming these into customize solutions. Her work covers the full spectrum of public workforce programs: local and state workforce boards, WIA programs, business services, employment service, welfare, vocational rehabilitation, education, Veteran's programs, trade, and community colleges.

As a trainer, she is the author of more than 30 training programs and dozens of national program models. Melanie strives for dynamic, relevant and fun sessions that enhance skills, generate new ideas, improve service delivery, facilitate process development, and produce marketing plans to reach new customers. From analogies that clarify complex information to humorous anecdotes, she combines traditional and innovative techniques to maximize participant outcomes.

Melanie's client list includes dozens of communities and states, local boards, and center management teams - in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas (to name just a few) - who have tapped into Melanie's expertise and vision.

Prior to embarking on her consulting career, Melanie was the Director of Marketing and Customer Service at the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training. Her additional professional experience includes continuing education, advertising agency production, and account management. Melanie received her B.A. from William Smith College.
