The Pee Dee Workforce Board and the Regional Partnership Board had internally defined their mission and vision, strategy and goals. They turned to marketer Sandy Gonsalves to help them position their messages for critical board audiences.
Sandy and her team created a Marketing Toolkit for each Board. A brand-logo and tagline-for each Board, which was applied to letterhead, envelopes and business cards for all Board members. Traditional communication tools were developed such as brochures, folders, and note cards.
One-page fact sheets were created from each Board's State of the Workforce Report. Each fact sheet highlighted the information most relevant for area businesses and provided tips and ideas for the challenges ahead.
One of the greatest challenges a Board faces is having its members become succinct spokespeople that can deliver information in a way that the business community can hear and respond to. To facilitate this process, Sandy developed a series of outreach letters to various Board audiences to solicit their cooperation and support. She also created a PowerPoint sales presentation that Board members can use when speaking with groups. The new tools gave Board members added confidence and greatly contributed to the Boards' overall professionalism--by providing professional communication vehicles on par with the private sector.
